1795 East India Pattern (3rd Model) Brown Bess Musket, 39" barre
In the early 1790s, the British decided to replace the Brown Bess Short Land Musket (New Pattern) by an improved version. However, before the new designs could be implemented, the war with France prompted the need for increased production and the new version of the musket was set aside in favour of a more familiar weapon.
The weapon that was adopted was the 1795 East India Pattern (3rd Model) Brown Bess.
The British produced millions of EIP Brown Bess muskets, which did extensive service in Europe during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. In America, the 1795 EIP was the standard weapon carried by British troops fighting in the War of 1812.
This beautiful replica is very close to its master: smooth wooden stock, original-style barrel bands, brass and steel fittings and a tempered and fully functional steel flintlock.
Our muzzle-loader replicas are intended for decoration and re-enactment. The muzzle has not been drilled, so the weapon is not functional. However, an expert gunsmith is able to drill the muzzle and make it to a functional gun. You should check with your authorities if this is legal in your country.
A beautiful item for every collection and an indispensable accessory for re-enactors.
